Tour begins in Barcelona and ends in Madrid. Proper documentation for international travel is required.
Sunnyside Tours will hold a group meeting two weeks prior to the trip to instruct participants and answer questions.
Day 1: Flight to Barcelona, Spain.
Day 2: Arrival in Barcelona.
Transfer to hotel. After lunch (or dinner), a chance to relax at hotel or begin exploring Barcelona. 3 Nights in Barcelona.
Day 3: Barcelona-Montserrat-Barcelona.
Today we begin to get acquainted with Barcelona,
City tour includes: the Olympic Stadium, Plaza de España, Paseo de Gracia, and Plaza Catalunia. Afterwards, we head for Montserrat - an abbey and basilica, located in the picturesque Montserrat mountains. Upon returning to Barcelona, continue the city tour, including Gaudi's “Sagrada Familia” Cathedral, Park Guel, Columbus' Monument, La Rambla.
Day 4: Barcelona-Figueres-Barcelona.
In the morning we conduct a walking tour of the Gothic Quarter, that culminates in a visit to the Gothic Cathedral. Afterwards, you may join a 6-hour excursion* to the famous Salvador Dali Museum in Figueres (10 miles South of the French border), or stay in Barcelona and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. Upon returning in Barcelona - an optional visit to the Picasso Museum.
Evening at leisure: take a gondola ride above the city, stroll along La Rambla, or perhaps a take cruise of the Olympic Harbor.
Day 5: Barcelona-Saragossa-Madrid.
In the morning we depart Barcelona and head for Saragossa, stopping for lunch and a tour of the Cathedral and central square in this typical Spanish town, which was once home to Goya. In the evening, we arrive in bustling, fashionable, and full-of-history Madrid. 3 Nights in Madrid.
Day 6: Madrid- Escorial-Madrid.
A city tour which includes: Gran Via, the world's first restaurant, the City Hall Plaza, the Cibeles Fountain, the Puerta del Sol, Plaza Major, and the Plaza Espana. Then, we visit the world-famous Prado Museum, followed by the
trip* to El Escorial and Valley of the Fallen.
Day 7: Madrid – Toledo- Madrid
Today we head for the ancient Castilian capital, Toledo.
A guided tour of the city includes the Roman Bridge, Alcazar, the 13th-century Gothic Cathedral, an early Synagogue, and the chapel of Santo Tome with one of El Greco's most famous painting. Return to Madrid.
Evening at leisure. Time to relax or perhaps catch up on some souvenir shopping. You may want to visit Sobrino de Botin - the restaurant, that has been entered in the Guiness Book of World Records as World's First Restaurant. Space is VERY limited, especially in the area of the restaurant where you definitely want to be seated, so, please, let us know in advance, so that we can make a reservation for you!
Day 8: Madrid-Granada.
Today we are to cross the province of Castilla La Mancha - the land of Don Quixote - with its windmills, medieval castles and olive trees. Upon arrival in Granada, our sightseeing includes a visit to the world-famous Alhambra,
which is the former residence of the Moorish Kings, and a walk through the exotic Water Gardens of the Generalife. You may enjoy an optional visit to the famous gypsy caves, where some of the world's most famous guitarists have been born. It's truly an Andalusian experience! Night in Granada.
Day 9: Granada - Marbella
A picturesque drive along Costa del Sol brings us to the prestigious, Mediterranean resort town of Marbella,
where we take in a familiarization tour, which includes celebrity homes and yachts anchored in Puerto Banus, and a tour of the beautiful Old Town Marbella. 2 Nights in Marbella.
Day 10: Marbella.
A full day to enjoy Costa del Sol on your own. Relax at the hotel pool, or perhaps take a stroll around the Old
Town to catch up on some souvenir shopping, or take an optional tour to Gibraltar*.
Day 11: Marbella – Mijas - Seville.
Mijas - a quaint town in the mountains, overlooking the beautiful Costa del Sol, where you can take a donkey
ride or simply stroll the crooked narrow streets and enjoy the beautiful views. An included Flamenco show enhances your stay. 2 nights in Seville.
Day 12: Seville.
In Seville our city tour includes The Great Gothic Cathedral, the Quarter of Santa Cruz, and the tower of the Giralda, Expo 1929, Expo 1992 Pavilions, and the Gold Tower. Afternoon at leisure. Why not enjoy an evening cruise along the Guadalquivir River.
Day 13: Sevilla – Cordova - Madrid.
Reach Cordoba and stop for a city tour, which includes: the Mezquita, Calleja de las Flores,
and Old Town. Afterwards, we return to Royal Madrid. Night in Madrid.
Day 14: Madrid-USA.
Transfer to Barajas Airport for our flight back home.
